WWE News: Daniel Bryan Calls Stephanie McMahon & Mick Foley Cowardly And Criticizes Goldberg

The rivalry between Smackdown Live and WWE Raw is getting better by the week. WWE fans had mixed feelings on the brand split at first, but that was to be expected. WWE officials abandoned the brand split idea near 2010 and went with the WWE Super Shows format. It worked, because there was never a matchup that WWE fans couldn’t get. Due to that, the benefits were everlasting. Then again, the WWE Universe started to figure out what was inevitable from the beginning. With only one true brand sharing both sets of WWE stars, there was going to be an automatic B+ show. Smackdown Live was the victim of that. There wasn’t enough good writing to go around, and when one brand was given superiority over another, the other tends to lack any quality. Smackdown Live was barely watched and even though it was on Friday night, the DVR was a popular tool in that respect. Nielsen ratings don’t take into account WWE fans who record the shows. Image by WWE.com This brand split in 2016 feels different. There are stars on both shows who can carry their own weight. On the blue brand, AJ Styles, John Cena, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, the Miz, Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton bring the best out of Smackdown Live. Miz and Ziggler are in one of the best rivalries in WWE history. Their match at No Mercy was a 5-star bout with tons of emotion and drama. The women on Tuesday nights are hands-down better than Raw’s. For the millions of WWE fans that are wondering if they will go head-to-head, especially with Survivor Series taking place in late-November. This pay-per-view used to be where both brands can battle to see who has the best wrestlers. Stephanie McMahon, Mick Foley, Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon are trading blows, especially Bryan. On Talking Smack, Bryan called out Stephanie and Foley, saying they book WWE Raw like cowards. He also criticized Goldberg’s WWE return. “Cowardly in the sense of, for example, they don’t rely strictly on their Raw talent to sell their shows, ” Bryan said. “They’re bringing in people from the Attitude Era like Bill Goldberg. We don’t need that here on Smackdown Live because we believe in our stars.” On Talking Smack, the WWE superstars don’t hold back with their verbiage. That’s why it’s turning into must-watch TV on the WWE Network. That’s also the same platform that the Miz used to turn into a main event wrestler when he called out Daniel Bryan. It’s unpredictable, which Bryan confirmed at a later date. So I just knew that Miz was going to come up, we were just going to banter back and forth. But Miz and I have known each other for a long time, and we really know how to get, like, at each other’s nerves. I brought up the idea that he wrestled like a coward, and he knows I don’t like the way he wrestles, right? Furthermore, at Survivor Series, Shane and Bryan challenged WWE Raw to three 5-on-5 elimination matches. They will include the men, women and tag-teams of each brand. In an earlier report by the Inquisitr, Stephanie and Foley have agreed to those three matches. So, they’re going to be filling out the rest of the participants in the coming weeks on WWE TV. Clearly, WWE Raw will have the upper hand due to Vince McMahon’s alignment with his flagship show. Then again, Smackdown Live has been allowed to utilize their stars in a proper way, so that logic could be tossed out immediately. Regardless of the outcome, the WWE has an agenda and they’ll stick to it. Besides, Goldberg came back. Does Raw have anyone else that can draw? [Featured image by WWE.com]
