Members of both parties projected a sense of camaraderie, following Wednesday’s tragic shooting that left House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, a Republican from Louisiana, fighting for his life.”The congressman’s status remains critical”, Jack Sava, the director of trauma at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center, told reporters.The man who shot Scalise and others at the baseball practice had with him a piece of paper with doodles and the names of three lawmakers, according to a person familiar with the case. “We have controlled the internal bleeding and his vital signs have stabilized”.Sava said that multiple teams have worked on the congressman, with a combination of surgeries and procedures.The gunman in the early morning attack at the ballpark in Alexandria, Virginia, was identified as 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, Illinois.USA politicians are playing in a charity baseball game a day after a shooting – as they practised – wounded a top Republican and three others.Scalise’s doctors estimate the congressman will be recovering in the hospital for the next couple of weeks. “He will require additional operations to manage abdominal injuries and other bone injuries”.In a statement Thursday, a hospital spokesman said Scalise’s condition was “critical with imminent risk of death” when he was admitted, but was improving after several surgeries. Doctors said he was near death upon arrival at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.During the friendly competition, a D.C. -area hospital released the following statement about the condition of Rep.
