Trump’s attorney says he is not under investigation

Next, on Friday morning, Trump announced to the world he is under investigation: “I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director!” However, Sekulow has said that the tweet was the President’s response to a media article about the non- existent investigation, a direct critique of the lack of authentic sources for the news that was published.

It’s too early to say for sure what legal strategy his lawyers will eventually settle on.

In this case, from everything Comey said in his testimony and everything the Post reported, we can believe Trump and not his hired gun: The president of the United States is under criminal investigation for possible obstruction of justice.

Sekulow is so certain that Trump is under investigation that even when he’s trying to do damage control over two Freudian slips that confirm Trump is under investigation, Sekulow releases another Freudian slip, beginning to reference the inves…never mind…

Sekulow is responding on “Fox and Friends” to a statement that Trump’s tweets can make it harder for others to do their job.

The only way to avoid a tainted investigation or a political explosion is another counsel to investigate possible obstruction of justice. Since the memos will undoubtedly play an important part of Mueller’s investigation, it’s not surprising that they don’t want to turn them over.

President Donald Trump signs an executive order on Cuba policy, Friday, June 16, 2017, in Miami.

Congress also wants to know whether Russian Federation colluded with the Trump team to interfere in the presidential election. Sekulow tried to reset by telling Wallace Trump was not under any investigation, but Wallace called him out. He’s used the term repeatedly-notably last Thursday, when he said the ” single greatest witch hunt in American political history” is being led by “very bad and conflicted people”.

“So the president is purportedly being investigated for doing what the Department of Justice, who’s doing the investigation, asked him to do”. He says that President Donald Trump, Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes and Democratic lawmakers should not be presuming an outcome.

It’s a question journalists can’t seem to get an answer to and the White House is now referring inquiries about the existence, or nonexistence of tapes, to Trump’s personal attorney.

“As I said all weekend, there has been no notification to any of us that the President is under any investigation and as I said, James Comey has said on three separate occasions that the President is not under investigation”, said Jay Sekulow, repeating an argument he also made on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper on Sunday. (In fact, I had a positive experience dealing with Mike Flynn when he was a colleague as Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency at the beginning of my term at Federal Bureau of Investigation.) I did not say I would “let this go”.

THE FACTS: The president once again shows a lack of understanding of how law-enforcement investigations work, or a willingness to misrepresent the process. Angus King, an independent from ME, stressed that the probe will likely last for a long time. He added: “A lot of people have said, ‘When do you think you’ll be done?’ Maybe the end of the year”.

Show co-host Brian Kilmeade also pushed back on Sekulow’s comment, asking him why he doesn’t take action on Trump’s use of Twitter.
