One man has died and another was transported to the hospital in critical condition after being stabbed Tuesday afternoon.

A teenager from Montgomery Village has been arrested in the death of two men following a fight and stabbings of two men at Westfield Wheaton mall.

On Tuesday, January 10 around 3:17 p.m., police received a 911 call for an assault and possible stabbings that had just occurred inside of the Westfield Wheaton Mall located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road in Wheaton.

Montgomery County Police announced Wednesday night that Angelo Lamont Jackson, of Montgomery Village, will be charged as an adult with two counts of first-degree murder. When they arrived, officers found Angel Alfredo Pineda-Gomez, 24, and another man suffering with severe injuries. The second victim’s identity has not been confirmed.

Police said a suspect and a group that included the victims got into an altercation that led to the stabbing. The video showed a man, armed with a knife, stab a victim, and, while still armed, pursue the second victim, police said. Court records don’t list an attorney for Jackson. Investigators shared a still photograph from the video with other county police officers. Authorities are trying to confirm a motive for the stabbings. Detectives urge anyone who may have information to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. Anonymous tips can be left at Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).

Police will not release a mug shot of Jackson because he is a juvenile, according to the press release.
