Orlando Shooting Suspect Has Long Criminal Record

Clayton fired back but did not hit him.

Clayton encountered the suspect in a Walmart parking lot where he shot her and fled in a stolen vehicle.

“There will be a large law enforcement presence in that area until we can determine he is not there”, Mina said. The shooting happened near a Walmart store in Orlando earlier Monday morning. Clayton reportedly called for backup to help her at the John Young Parkway and Princeton Street location, but then obtained visual confirmation of Loyd for herself.

Clayton, who was a 17-year veteran in the Orlando Police force, was killed by Markeith Loyd on Monday morning.

“She loved what she did in terms of educating the public”, Thomas said.

“He walked by me, had a security vest and everything”, Herman told the media. Loyd told Mayan, according to the documents, that he would shoot any officer who tried to stop him. “He shot her down”.

“Oh God!” Orlando commissioner Regina Hill wrote on Facebook. “I’m not going to live past 25″. His name was being withheld until his family is notified.

Deputies said Mayan met with Loyd at least two times after Dixon was killed. He allegedly fired upon a responding deputy’s vehicle before carjacking a woman.

According to WFTV, Loyd allegedly carjacked a vehicle and escaped again.

The manhunt for Loyd entered a second day on Tuesday.

“The Lake County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to our brothers and sisters at Orlando Police Department”, LCSO tweeted. “He should be considered armed and unsafe”, Police Chief John Mina said.

But more hours passed with no sign of Loyd, as the searchers roved across the city.

Police are now offering a $60,000 reward for information leading to Loyd’s capture.

Gov. Rick Scott cancelled an appearance in Orlando because of the shooting but appeared with Orlando officials at the news conference.

Master Sergeant Deborah Clayton is the first police officer murdered in 2017 on USA soil.

A man wanted in connection with the slaying of his pregnant ex-girlfriend is being sought in connection with the Monday shooting of an Orlando police officer.

Shopper Hal Shore says in his opinion, Clayton’s death is a reminder that there is a “war” against police officers in the United States.

An Orlando, Florida, police officer has been taken to the hospital following a shooting as authorities searched for a suspect.
