For those wanting a taste of the Prime life, Amazon offers a 30-day trial to first time users. The event included huge discounts on everything from technology and gadgets to fashion and beauty.
Mark your calendars and sound the alarms, bargain hunters: Amazon just announced that it will hold its second annual Prime Day on Tuesday, July 12. If you’re a Prime member, you’ll be able to shop deals on all devices across almost all categories with more than 100,000 items marked down worldwide.
Leading up to Prime Day, Amazon plans to offer “countdown deals” every day from July 5 through July 11, including a 32-inch TV bundle with a Fire TV Stick for $119.99. Starting today and running through Prime Day, customers in the US can listen for a chance to win one of twelve unforgettable experiences with top artists, including Carrie Underwood, Blink-182, Norah Jones, Flo Rida, The Lumineers, Pentatonix, and others. If you’re not already a Prime member then you can sign up with a free 30 day trial to access the Prime Day deals.
The Seattle online retailer created the shopping holiday for its Prime customers past year as something of a half-birthday for Christmas.
The Bentonville, AR-based retail giant also recently announced a new yearly two-day shipping subscription, much like the Prime service for Amazon.com (AMZN). ShippingPass does not offer as many additional features (such as content streaming) as Prime, nor does it have as wide an assortment.
Amazon says it will launch new deals as often as every five minutes over the 24 hours of the sale.
In addition to driving sales, Prime Day inspired more new members to try out Prime services than any other day in Amazon history, the company said.
The offer means consumers will get unlimited two-day shipping for free for a month. Instead, it’s the time of year when shoppers are stocking up on such things as seasonal summer goods and back-to-school essentials, she said. Amazon also boasts a broader array of products, with more than 20 million items eligible for Prime. Prime Day is only open to Prime members. If you want to return a product ordered through Shipping Pass, you can simply bring it into a nearby store or return it online.
